Be Social!
I enjoy writing from home, but it has a tendency of making me an outsider. This winter I avoided driving around town like the plague, so I mostly stayed in my pajamas, drank tea and wrote my articles with my cat at my side. Nothing wrong with that, right? Yes, I was getting things accomplished, but I wasn’t speaking to anyone except close friends and family. Writing is a lonely job, and it can cause you to distance yourself from the world. In order to be a better writer, you have to socialize with people because that is when you get the great stories and maybe even find new gigs.
