Creating a video log (vlog) is an addition to or an alternative to blogging. A vlog is ideal if you enjoy writing scripts and being on camera. Many computers now come with built in cameras, and if you don’t have one, you can always buy a webcam for about $25.

This is a great opportunity to get your face and name out there, especially if you want to be a broadcast journalist or video editor. You can start with simple vlogs and gradually move up to producing more complex ones that include interviews, photographs, etc. Even if you are a photojournalist, vlogs can put your talents to work.
